Songs for the broken hearted
Nina is een feministische ‘sloerie’ op zoek naar de liefde. Met haar jazztrio zingt ze melancholische liedjes over het constant falen in de liefde – en alles wat daarmee te maken heeft (tinderdates die totaal mislopen, het facebookstalken van je ex). Flirterig, lichtzinnig en ironisch – zonder plat te worden – strompelt ze langs de catastrofe van haar eigen liefdesleven en spaart daarbij niets – voornamelijk zichzelf niet.

Nina is a feminist slut looking for love. With her jazz trio she sings melancholic songs about failing in love – and everything that comes with it (tinderdates gone horribly wrong, facebookstalking your ex and refusing to give your boyfriend a blowjob). Flirtily, promiscuous yet at all times highly educated, she stumbles along the catastrophe of her own love life and leaves no one – least of all herself – in tact.
Nina’s Songs for the Brokenhearted is a critical observation of banal female problems, sexuality and image in a privileged first world context – but all feminism aside, it is mostly a captivating jazz concert delivered by the most nerdy slut you will ever meet.
