The editor of the Caribbean writers series of Heinemann publishers just told me they are looking to publish works by unpublished Caribbean writers, so if you have a novel or a novella send it to her. Her name is Rachel Brown Rachel.Brown@Pearson.com. They published my novel Children of the Sea and a parent has written me from Jamaica to tell me that her daughter is being taught it in form one in Jamaica and to ask me to tell her what inspired the novel. Another novel of mine , A season of Waiting, is being used in schools in Jamaica, Tanzania and Kenya. Write to Rachel. Give her a synopsis of your work and ask her to consider it for publication in the Caribbean writers series. Don’t mind rejection. I have a full file of rejection letters from publishers but I persisted because I read the experiences of established writers. Persevere. Don’t give up.
