Dutch Premiere of Documentary on Early Dancehall Scene in New York at Black Soil Film Festival
On Friday December 8, Jamrock, Caribbean Creativity, and Africadelic present the Dutch and even European premiere of Bad Like Brooklyn Dancehall (2023) in LantarenVenster Rotterdam as part of the Black Soil Film Festival!
Executive produced by 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗴𝗴𝘆, this documentary explores the dancehall music scene that reverberated across Brooklyn in the 1980s and 1990s and its ever-present influence on a younger generation. After the 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗱-𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 during 𝗔𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 last month, we can now host the 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲 of the film at Black Soil! The film will be introduced by Angel Misier aka 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿.
